Small Business Marketing - FirstBank's New ApproachAccording to an article released mid-May in The New York Times, it seems FirstBank is taking a new approach towards getting small businesses to open new accounts.  However, these small businesses are “one-person enterprises ” as Stuart Elliot calls them.  FirstBank is offering these extremely small businesses advertising benefits in order to increase business.  This approach has surprisingly been beneficial to both the bank as well as the small business itself.

Their main focus was to actually focus on helping the small business through marketing and advertising.  One example that was discussed in the article was a billboard ad for a babysitter.  People actually called looking for a babysitter as well as customers who wanted their ads on billboards.  Something as simple as this is what defines ‘innovation.’
